Maternal DNA Testing

What is Maternal DNA Testing?

Maternal  DNA Testing is a likelihood test used to establish whether a woman is the biological mother of a child or not.  As a child inherits half of its DNA from both parents, this test accurately identifies and establishes the biological relationship between a child and the alleged mother. Similar to a paternity test, this process compares the child’s DNA with that of the alleged mother, shedding light on the likelihood of inherited DNA.

Our testing facility is ISO 18385:2016, ISO9001:2015, and ISO/IEC 17025 certified company that employs state-of-the-art Autosomal and X Markers kit, ensuring 100% accuracy and 99.99 % probability of maternity

WHEN TO DO?

  • Immigration Cases: used as evidence of mother-child relationship for citizenship and visa applications
  • IVF Cases: when couples need assurance that intended embryo was implanted
  • Adoption: to prove adoptee’s relationship to a possible biological mother
  • Baby Mix-up in hospital wards: When the staff or parents are in doubt
  • Peace of Mind:  for one’s own information only

DISCLAIMER: This test result may not be defendable in a court of law for the establishment of paternity/relationship and other legally related issues because the samples used for the peace of mind test are not collected under a strict chain of custody or on an honourable court’s order by a third neutral party, and the Laboratory is unable to verify the origin of the samples. The names of the testing parties that may be listed in this report were submitted by the customer and are not independently verified. For inaccurate or misspelt patient information, the laboratory disclaims any liability.
